Experience
I am currently pursuing a pre-med degree in molecular cellular biology with a minor in mathematics at the University of Puget Sound where I am also a varsity swimmer. I began tutoring as an extension of my role as captain of the swim team. In addition to tutoring others on the team, for the past three years I have also been tutoring students in the biology department. My teaching experience is not limited to academic subjects. I have been a swim coach and instructor for seven years. This time has been invaluable in learning how to work closely with students with patience and an open-minded approach to the various styles of learning. I primarily tutor students in the fields of math and science. Some of the courses I offer tutoring for include algebra 1 & 2, algebra 3/4, biology, cell biology, and trigonometry for high school and college students. I also help students prepare for the various portions of the ACT, including ACT science, ACT reading, ACT math, ACT English, and ACT writing. I also enjoy working with students to help them improve their essay writing skills. My two greatest passions are learning and helping others. Tutoring allows me to combine both of these and it is a process I truly love.
