Experience
I attended the University of Iowa, where I earned my bachelor's in English. In 2013, I attended Brown University, where I earned a master's of Fine Arts in Literary Arts. I'm in the process of earning a doctorate degree in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have experience teaching undergrad students. Also, while in graduate school, I was the instructor of two workshops in poetry. I've also been a tutor for college athletes in Literature and English at U. of Iowa. This experience gave me more skills in working with students one-on-one. My expertise is situated in Literature, English, and Creative Writing. More specifically, I work with students to stay organized and develop critical writing and reading skills. While volunteering at a women's center, I set up a poetry group. I'm presently volunteering with a H.S. poetry group. I was of the first in my family to enter into higher education, and I truly feel that everyone deserves access to the growth that comes with education. My passions lie in Lit, Writing, and English because people can learn so much from them about life and the world. Outside of academics and teaching, I love poetry, reading literary magazines, and volunteering.
